Message from Haye Folkertsma

Following the Kick-off meeting of the Similar Cities Network last april, the Organising Committee met on Thursday April 10 in Utrecht. Francesca Martinese from Bologna, Jan Beyer Schmidt-Sorensen and Helle Friss from Aarhus and Gertrud van Dam and Haye Folkertsma from Utrecht had an inspiring meeting. At length they discussed the organisation of the Similar Cities Network. At the end of the day the concept of the organisation was finalized. This includes implications for the network as a whole and what this means for the individual partners. Also a first draft working programme for the coming period was constructed. After her holidays Gertrud van Dam will finalize a memo on these subjects, and send it to all involved cities for comments. We hope and expect that this way the original concept of the network will develop into a tangible Similar Cities Network. I would like to thank everyone for their inspiring and enthousiastic contribution.
